PROMOTING ENGINEERING

CLEAR, PRACTICAL AND EXPERT GUIDANCE ON CAREERS IN STEM

We promote engineering to students, young people, and parents through a range of events, support for school careers programmes, and industry-based experiences.

We work closely with SECONDARY SCHOOLS, delivering assemblies, attending careers fairs, and leading careers sessions to raise awareness of engineering and the opportunities it offers.

During NATIONAL APPRENTICESHIP WEEK, we organise EMPLOYER OPEN EVENINGS with our industry partners, giving students and their families the chance to learn more about apprenticeship pathways.

We also host the BICESTER CAREERS AND APPRENTICESHIP FAIR, bringing together employers, training providers, and young people to explore future career opportunities.

Through these activities, we provide excellent information, advice, and guidance, helping people make informed decisions about their education, training, and future careers in engineering and related industries.

Careers Fairs
We can attend your careers fair, delivering a practical engineering activity alongside high-quality careers information, advice and guidance. Our involvement is relevant to those considering an apprenticeship (in any industry) and those interested in pursuing a career in engineering, helping them understand the opportunities available and the routes into the industry.

Assemblies, Talks and Workshops
Our assemblies, talks and workshops can be tailored to suit your needs and typically last between 20 and 90 minutes. While they focus on engineering apprenticeships, the information provided is relevant to apprenticeship opportunities across all sectors.

Sessions can include practical activities, CV-writing exercises and employability skills development. With advance notice, we can often arrange for a current apprentice to attend and share their experiences, giving students valuable insight into the apprenticeship journey from someone who has taken that route themselves.

Other Careers Activities
We are happy to support a wide range of school careers activities and events, including careers workshops, Careers Detective sessions, CV-writing support, mock interviews and other employability-focused programmes.

employer open evenings

During National Apprenticeship Week each year, we work with a number of our employer partners across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and North Devon to host employer open evenings at their facilities. These exciting events bring together leading engineering employers, giving visitors the opportunity to step inside their workplaces, learn about what they do and explore the apprenticeship opportunities available.

The evenings provide exclusive insights into the innovative projects, technologies and day-to-day operations of some of the region’s most successful engineering companies. Visitors can take part in guided tours of cutting-edge facilities, see engineering in action and gain a real understanding of what a career in the industry can offer.

Perhaps most importantly, these events provide an excellent networking opportunity. Visitors can meet current apprentices, experienced engineers and recruitment teams, ask questions and discover more about the exciting apprenticeship and career pathways available within the engineering sector.

Bicester careers and apprenticeship fair

The Bicester Careers & Apprenticeship Fair brings together local employers, training providers and education organisations to help people explore career opportunities, apprenticeships and future pathways, all under one roof.

Whether you are a student planning your next steps, a parent supporting career decisions, or someone looking for a new direction, the fair provides an excellent opportunity to ask questions, gain valuable advice and discover the opportunities available in the local area.

Visitors can meet employers and training providers, learn about apprenticeship programmes, explore career options across a range of sectors and gain a better understanding of the routes available after school, college or employment.

The fair takes place annually during National Apprenticeship Week each February and is a fantastic event for anyone considering their future education, training or career choices.
